Heavy rains have damaged a popular Baltic Sea attraction. "We are assessing the damage."

Unfavorable weather on the Baltic Sea isn't just a concern for accommodation and restaurant owners who are losing guests. Tourists who could have taken advantage of a popular attraction instead of relaxing on the beach have lost that opportunity.
The railway on the Vistula Spit is closedThe heavy rains that swept through Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki County on Monday, July 28th, closed the popular Żuławy Commuter Railway. Currently, the flooding of the narrow-gauge railway prevents it from safely operating.
"We are currently assessing the damage and will urgently begin repairing the damage and pumping water from the flooded areas," the Pomeranian Railway Enthusiasts' Association, which operates the trains, announced. The association asked for understanding and patience in this difficult situation. It will provide updates on the restored service on the website kolejzulawska.pl and on social media.
"Hang in there. I'll make a special trip to your place as soon as you resume service," one user wrote.
Żuławy Commuter Railway allows ticket returnsPassengers can return tickets purchased online through a complaint process. Simply send an email to [email protected] . "Tickets purchased through our website or the e-podróżnik.pl portal can be returned independently up to 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time," the announcement reads.
During the summer, the Żuławy Commuter Railway runs daily , from June 19 to August 31, 2025. This allows you to visit several towns on the Baltic Sea. Trains run on the Nowy Dwór Gdański – Sztutowo and Sztutowo – Stegna – Jantar – Mikoszewo – Right Bank of the Vistula. The final stop is in Mikoszewo, by the flood embankment, behind the church and bell tower. From there, you can walk to the mouth of the Vistula River on the Baltic Sea.
